[SOLVED] Samsung S21: no alerts anymore

I use your app for several years and I'm quite happy with it. Thanks for your efforts.

Last week I got a new Samsung S21 with Android 11. I use COL Reminder version 3.7.2.
Since then I can set a reminder but no alert comes if a reminder reached the set time (neither tone nor popup).

Only if I open the COL reminder app the alerts of the "expired" reminders will come (tone and popup).
It seems the app must run in the foreground to generate the alerts for set reminders.

I already uninstalled and newly installed the app but the problem remains.
For other apps like WhatsApp and mail the notifications are coming.

Any ideas ? Thanks in advance.

Samsung has continued with Android 11 the nightmare with killing apps to save battery.
With Android 11 they added on top of the bad behavior new ways to kill apps.

Did you check https://dontkillmyapp.com/ already? This is typically a battery-optimisation issue. Head over to that website where you can see all the precautions that you can take to prevent Samsung kill COL Reminder 😉

Thanks for the really quick replies.

I was also thinking that maybe some "battery management" could be the source of this problem.

I used the description on https://www.xda-developers.com/samsungs-one-ui-3-update-annoying-app-killing-behavior/ and I was able to which off the optimization.
Now COL reminder appears in the list "Apps not optimized".

Now alerts are generated without having the app running.
