[SOLVED] Problem with notifications

I have the following problem with notification icons on the status bar and with notifications on the lock screen: they disappear either without any visible reason or because cache have been cleared.

My phone is Redmi 5A, COL Reminder 3.6.3 (547), MIUI Global 11.0.2.0, Android 8.1.0.

On MIUI it seems that "Clear All Notifications" also clears the "sticky" notifications.
Do you select sometimes "Clear All Notifications"?

chrisonline I don't think so - I've never used such clearing. I just clean cache and the notifications and icons disappear, and also they dissppear suddenly without doing anyghing on my part. COL Reminder is not the only app with this problem, but there are apps without this problem.

chrisonline Each app produces some data and writes it in the phone memory - you can call it cache or trash. It is necessary to clean the memory from time to time i.e. to remove cache from the memory. There are several ways to do this e.g. you can use a system app called 'Security'.

Please check if you have some battery optimization apps activated or inside the system setting of the MIUI.

Head over to http://www.dontkillmyapp.com and check the settings for Miui.

I think that some battery optimizations kills the apps and therefore the notification is also removed.

So, your suggestion to read that website was good. My battery settings turned out to be correct. But on Redmi there is something like 'recent app tray' and it turned out that there are hidden settings there, I was unaware of. Using these settings one can lock an app to the result that notifications do not disappear if cache has been cleared. It seems to me now that COL Reminder notifications became also stable i.e. they do not disappear suddenly without any visible reason as before, but I will have to test this longer to be sure.

chrisonline The procedure for locking an app reads as follows (Redmi 5A, MIUI Global 11):

Tap the recent app tray button (left bottom corner, denoted by three dashes). You will see screenshots of recently used apps:
Find the app you need and press longer its screenshot. You will see then three icons:
Tap on the padlock icon.
